Greenkeeper’s Assistant – Shandon Golf Club  Full-time

Shandon Golf Club is seeking a motivated and reliable Greenkeeper’s Assistant to join our dedicated Course Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a picturesque outdoor environment while contributing to the care and presentation of one of Wellington’s premier golf courses.

About the Role

As a Greenkeeper’s Assistant, you will support the day-to-day maintenance and preparation of the golf course. Duties include mowing, bunker maintenance, gardening, general landscaping, and assisting with course projects as required.

We are especially interested in candidates who have experience in irrigation systems or mechanical/machinery servicing, as these skills are highly valuable within our team.

You will be required to work approximately one weekend per month.

What We’re Looking For

Preferred experience (one or more of the following):

• Knowledge of golf course irrigation systems, troubleshooting, and repairs
• Experience in mechanical servicing, including small engines, turf machinery, or workshop maintenance
• Experience in turf management
• Landscaping experience
• Arborist skills

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Enjoyment of physical, outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious
• Willingness to learn and grow within the role
