This edition of the "Walk of Champions" book came out for the 30th Anniversary of the "Walk of Champions" in 2022.
The Walk of Champions was started by the late Roy Hewson in 1992 after a trip to Los Angeles and seeing the "Walk of Fame. Roy came back to Petone and discussed his idea for honouring all Petone sportspeople who had either become national champions and/or had representing New Zealand in their chosen sport with Andy Leslie and Kevin Rayner.
Between 1992 and 2022, 145 plaques have been laid, honouring 200 sportspeople.
